The Old Growth Spruce Taiga biome is an uncommon biome that takes a little searching to find, generated in the Overworld dimension and classed as a temperate biome. Its climate is cool, so the Old Growth Spruce Taiga gets rainfall. In technical terms the game tracks it with a temperature value of 0.25 and the biome ID minecraft:old_growth_spruce_taiga.

Its defining terrain features are giant 2x2 spruce trees with dense leaf cover, podzol and mossy cobblestone boulders. Similar to Old Growth Pine Taiga but with denser leaf coverage on the giant spruce trees. Previously called Giant Spruce Taiga.

The Old Growth Spruce Taiga biome was added to Minecraft in 1.7.2 and is still generated in version 1.21. Like all Overworld biomes it is shaped by the surrounding temperature and humidity, so the exact borders of any Old Growth Spruce Taiga you find will shift from world to world.

The Old Growth Spruce Taiga biome only generates in the Overworld. It commonly borders Taiga and Old Growth Pine Taiga, so finding any of those is a good sign you are close.
