Warped Forest

The Warped Forest biome is a common biome you will run into often, generated in the Nether dimension and classed as a nether biome. Its climate is scorching (the Nether is uniformly hot, so water evaporates instantly), so the Warped Forest gets no precipitation at all and stays permanently dry. In technical terms the game tracks it with a temperature value of 2 and the biome ID minecraft:warped_forest.

Its defining terrain features are warped fungi, warped nylium, twisting vines and shroomlights. The safest Nether biome. Only Endermen and Striders spawn here, making it ideal for Nether bases. Warped fungus repels hoglins. The teal color scheme provides a surreal atmosphere.

The Warped Forest biome was added to Minecraft in 1.16 and is still generated in version 1.21. As a Nether biome the Warped Forest has no day/night cycle, no weather and a permanent lava-lit gloom.

The Warped Forest biome generates in the Nether, so you must build and light a Nether portal to reach it. It commonly borders Nether Wastes, Crimson Forest and Soul Sand Valley, so finding any of those is a good sign you are close.

Look for the eerie blue-green forest of warped fungi and twisting vines; the teal nylium is unmistakable.

If cheats or operator permissions are available, the fastest method is the command “/locate biome minecraft:warped_forest”, which points you to the nearest Warped Forest and gives its coordinates. Without commands you have to explore for the Warped Forest on foot: because it is common, ordinary travel through Nether will usually reveal one before long.

On the peaceful side, the Warped Forest biome is home to Strider. The Strider, for example, walks on lava and can be saddled and steered with a warped fungus on a stick.

On the dangerous side of the Warped Forest biome, watch for Enderman. The Enderman teleports, picks up blocks and turns hostile if you look directly at its head.

The blocks that give the Warped Forest biome its character include Warped Nylium, Warped Stem, Warped Hyphae, Shroomlight, Twisting Vines, Warped Wart Block, Warped Fungus, Warped Roots and Nether Sprouts. Within the Warped Forest, Warped Nylium, Warped Stem, Warped Hyphae and Shroomlight are the most useful to gather early, whether for building, crafting or decoration.

Players typically visit the Warped Forest biome to collect fungal stems for wood, which makes it a worthwhile stop for that resource.

The Warped Forest biome can generate a Nether Fortress, the only place blazes spawn and the source of nether wart for brewing and a Bastion Remnant, a ruined piglin stronghold packed with gold blocks, piglins and the rare Pigstep music disc.

With Nether Fortress and Bastion Remnant all able to appear in the Warped Forest biome, it is well worth exploring thoroughly, as each of these 2 structures offers its own loot and challenges.
